New Zealand’s most practical AI training — for teams that need results, not theory.
We help NZ organisations build real AI capability. Your team learns to use ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, and Claude to do actual work — faster, smarter, and with confidence. No coding. No hype. Just skills that stick.

Who this training is for
Most NZ organisations have already paid for AI tools. The problem isn’t access — it’s adoption. If your team has ChatGPT or Copilot licences but productivity hasn’t improved, this training closes that gap.
This is the right training if:
- Staff feel unsure about AI — or use it inconsistently
- Leaders want a common capability baseline across the organisation
- AI has been “rolled out” but outputs are hit-or-miss
- You need documented, safe, repeatable workflows — not random prompting
- Your team needs to understand what to share with AI, and what not to
We work with teams in law, healthcare, accounting, government, real estate, not-for-profits, professional services, marketing, HR, education, and more.
Three ways to work with us
1. AI Roadmap Workshop — $1,500 + GST
Not sure where to start? The AI Roadmap Workshop is a 60-minute structured review of your organisation’s current AI use, capability gaps, and highest-value opportunities. You receive a written report with a prioritised action plan — specific to your team, your tools, and your industry.
Most organisations use the Roadmap Workshop to make the case internally for training investment, or to identify which team to upskill first.
2. In-House Training for Your Organisation
In-house AI training is delivered at your premises (or virtually) for your specific team, tools, and use-cases. We tailor every session to your industry, your software stack, and the real work your people do every day.
- Half-day, full-day, or multi-session formats
- Custom prompt templates and internal AI playbook
- Department-specific training: leadership, HR, sales, finance, operations, marketing, and more
- Optional AI policy and governance support
3. Public Workshops — Open Enrolment
Our public AI workshops are structured programmes for professionals who want to build AI capability independently — or want to pilot the training before committing to a full team rollout.
- 6 × 90-minute sessions (or condensed intensive formats)
- Hands-on exercises, prompt templates, and repeatable workflows
- Suitable for mixed roles and skill levels
- Delivered in Christchurch and online across New Zealand
What your team can do after training
We don’t teach AI as a concept. We teach it as a skill — something your people can use on Monday morning. By the end of a GenAI Training NZ workshop, participants can:
- Turn vague goals into clear briefs, plans, and deliverables using AI
- Draft and refine emails, reports, proposals, and presentations faster
- Analyse documents, spreadsheets, and feedback to extract key insights
- Build reusable prompt templates for their specific role and daily tasks
- Apply practical guardrails: what to share with AI, what to keep private, and why
- Use AI tools within your organisation’s privacy and compliance requirements
The training method: Sandbox → Sprint → Share
We teach AI the way you’d learn any professional skill — through structured practice, not passive information. The GenAI Training NZ method:
- Sandbox: Experiment with AI tools in a safe, guided environment with real work examples from your industry
- Sprint: Complete a real task — a document, analysis, or communication — using AI during the session
- Share: Compare outputs, reflect on what worked, and extract a repeatable pattern you can use again
This cycle builds genuine confidence — not just familiarity with a tool. Participants leave with templates they built themselves, not handed-down examples from someone else’s industry.

About your trainer
GenAI Training NZ is led by Caelan Huntress — an AI trainer, speaker, and operator based in Christchurch. Caelan also runs the AI Coaching Academy, where he trains professionals across New Zealand and internationally to become proficient AI operators.
His core belief: AI capability is an operator problem, not a technology problem. Your organisation doesn’t need better tools — it needs people who know how to use the ones you already have. That’s what GenAI Training NZ delivers.
Frequently asked questions about AI training in New Zealand
How much does AI training cost in New Zealand?
Our AI Roadmap Workshop starts at $1,500 + GST. In-house training and public workshop pricing is detailed on our pricing page. We also offer a transparent breakdown at how much AI training costs in NZ.
Do you teach ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, and Claude?
Yes — we cover ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, and Claude. Tool selection for in-house training is based on your organisation’s existing licences and needs.
Is this suitable for non-technical staff?
Yes. All of our AI training is designed for people who use computers but don’t write code. The focus is practical workplace outputs — not technical concepts. We’ve delivered workshops to teams ranging from senior partners at law firms to frontline retail and healthcare staff.
Can you deliver AI training outside Christchurch?
Yes. We deliver in-house training across New Zealand — Auckland, Wellington, Dunedin, and other regions. Virtual delivery is available nationwide.
How do you handle AI privacy and data security in training?
Privacy and responsible use are built into every session. We cover what information should and shouldn’t be shared with AI tools, how different tools store and use data, and how to apply practical guardrails that comply with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
What’s the difference between an AI Assessment and a training workshop?
The AI Assessment is a diagnostic — it tells you where your organisation stands and where to focus. Training workshops build the capability. Many organisations start with an Assessment to build the business case and identify priorities, then use those findings to design the training programme.
Do you help with AI policy and governance?
Yes — we can help you develop a practical AI policy for your NZ team as part of an in-house training engagement, or as a standalone deliverable from the AI Assessment.
How long does a workshop take?
Public workshops run as 6 × 90-minute sessions over three weeks, or as condensed half-day or full-day intensives. In-house training format is tailored to your schedule — from a focused two-hour session to a multi-day capability programme. See our workshops page for current formats.
